Peter A. Venuto,
a first time author, has gained a lot of knowledge in his 60+ years of
observations and experiences.
He started out
as a farm boy living on his grandparent’s farm in South Jersey, when the old
draft horse was just as valuable as the tractor. His roots are in Sicily from
where his father and grandparents emigrated in the early 1900’s.
He has worked as a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman, a Respiratory Therapist, a real
estate salesman, an accounting specialist, and now as a caregiver to mentally
handicapped individuals with behavioral problems and as an author.
He enjoys good
friends, good music, good food and good wine. You don’t need a wine steward.
Cabernet Sauvignon goes with everything!
He feels his
greatest achievement is the close relationship he has established with his two
sons.
Hobbies include
gardening, cooking, bowling and playing the piano.
His grandparents brought with
them, from Sicily in 1910, seeds for a large leaf variety of Sweet Basil. Every
year since then the family has saved the seed for the next year’s planting. Pete
has continued this tradition and in the year 2010 the tradition will become 100
years old.
His most
gratifying moment in life was being present when his mother took her last
breath. He had previously been her full time caregiver for over three years when
she had advanced Alzheimer’s disease.
He hopes all
who obtain a copy of his book will enjoy it, as others have, and that singles
will reap great benefits from it and not become a divorce statistic and at the
same time obtain valuable insight into raising children.
